Mrs. Taba Peterside was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Capital Bancorp Plc in 2025. She is a highly accomplished financial services executive, development finance specialist, entrepreneur, and corporate governance expert with over 35 years of experience spanning banking, capital markets, financial regulation, development finance, risk management, corporate governance, and microfinance. She brings extensive boardroom experience across the financial services, technology, education, and not-for-profit sectors, with a proven track record of strategic leadership, institution building, and value creation.
Mrs. Peterside is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Waveline Growth Partners, a technology-driven microfinance institution established in 2017 to advance financial inclusion and improve access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through transparent, customer-centric and innovative financial solutions.
She currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Ecobank Nigeria Limited, where she previously acted as Board Chairman between June and September 2021 and chairs the Nomination, Governance and Remuneration Committee while serving on the Audit Committee. She is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of CWG Plc and serves as a Non-Executive Director of Temple Court Development Limited.
Prior to establishing Waveline Growth Partners, Mrs. Peterside served as General Manager at Nigerian Exchange Limited (formerly The Nigerian Stock Exchange), where she led several strategic business units and played a key role in driving market development, corporate governance enhancement, regulatory compliance, and capital market growth.
Her international experience includes serving as Program Manager at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Standards and Insurance Manager at the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), and senior roles at Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited (now Stanbic IBTC) and Nigerian-American Merchant Bank Limited.
Mrs. Peterside holds a Master of Development Economics (MDE) from Dalhousie University, Canada, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Development Studies (Economics) from the University of Kent, United Kingdom. She has also completed executive education and leadership programmes at Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, IMD, Tuck School of Business, the Institute of Directors UK, and the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD), a Certified Microfinance Professional, a member of Women Corporate Directors (Nigeria Chapter), a Life Member and former Executive Council Member of WIMBIZ, and has served on numerous boards and governance committees across the private and non-profit sectors.
